MUSEUM GUIDE
design brief + RESEARCH
I created a museum guide that captures the essence of a museum or a specific exhibition within a museum. I had chosen the Egyptian Section of the Met because of how many unique types of artwork they have. I wanted to use textures, bold photos and fonts that would compliment each other in the brochure. I had also wanted a theme that revolved around the Egyptian gods, So I made sure to include several different photos and illustrations of them throughout the brochure.
FIRST LAYOUT
I strayed away from my first set of sketches, as this layout was a lot stronger. I laid out the text and images to see how to work around important information and captions for the artworks. I realized on this first layout that addition of the Egyptian Gods was a bit too prominent for the inside of the brochure, and just having Ra on the cover would be enough. FINAL LAYOUT
I didn't make too many changes in the final, I just made sure the text fit well within each page and that each artwork was labeled and easy to identify. I replaced the last page with artworks from the Met instead of using illustrations because it felt better to include as much artwork from the museum as possible into the brochure design.
